Recommendation systems powered by artificial intelligence (AI) are widely used to improve user experience. However, AI inevitably raises privacy leakage and other security issues due to the utilization of extensive user data. Addressing these challenges can protect users' personal information, benefit service providers, and foster service ecosystems. Presently, numerous techniques based on differential privacy have been proposed to solve this problem. However, existing solutions encounter issues such as inadequate data utilization and a tenuous trade-off between privacy protection and recommendation effectiveness. To enhance recommendation accuracy and protect users' private data, we propose ID-SR, a novel privacy-preserving social recommendation scheme for trustworthy AI based on the infinite divisibility of Laplace distribution. We first introduce a novel recommendation method adopted in ID-SR, which is established based on matrix factorization with a newly designed social regularization term for improving recommendation effectiveness. We then propose a differential privacy-preserving scheme tailored to the above method that leverages the Laplace distribution's characteristics to safeguard user data. Theoretical analysis and experimentation evaluation on two publicly available datasets demonstrate that our scheme achieves a superior balance between privacy protection and recommendation effectiveness, ultimately delivering an enhanced user experience.

Synthetic biohybrid systems by coupling artificial system with nature's machinery may offer a disruptive solution to address the global energy crisis. We developed a versatile electroenzymatic pathway for the continuous synthesis of valuable chemicals, facilitated by formate-driven NADH regeneration. Utilizing a bismuth electrocatalyst, we achieved stable CO2 reduction to formate with approximately 90 % Faraday efficiency at a current density of 150 mA cm−2. The generated formate acts as a mediator to regenerate NADH, which is then coupled with immobilized redox enzymes—alcohol dehydrogenase (ADH), L-lactate dehydrogenase (LDH), and L-glutamate dehydrogenase (GDH)—to produce targeted chemicals at significant rates and exceptionally high turnover numbers (1.8×106 to 3.1×106). These achievements not only underscore the efficiency of the system but also its practical applicability in industrial settings. By leveraging in situ generated formate, this innovative approach demonstrates the potential of integrating electrocatalysis with enzymatic reactions for sustainable and efficient chemical production on a practical scale.@en

Nowadays, city clusters have become an important spatial form in the process of global urbanization, characterized by contiguous development across provincial, municipal, and county administrative boundaries, given all-around cross-border circulation of socio-economic factors at the regional scale has become the trend. In order to pursue their own interests, neighboring administrative regions are driven by localism and often deliberately ignore regional level neighborhood issues, especially ecological and environmental issues regarding “public goods”, coupled with weak cross-border spatial governance at the regional level, this has led to prominent negative externalities and constant conflicts in the development of cross-border areas, seriously affecting the developing quality of the region as a whole. This paper attempts to challenge the traditional technical concept of spatial planning, and introduce the meta-governance theory of public administration discipline. The study empirically demonstrates the Yangtze River Delta(YRD), the representative of China’s regional development and pioneer in cross-border ecological governance as an example, and identifies the evolution of the three-stage regional coordination model in the YDR region since the reform and opening up in China, and the successes and failures of planning meta-governance in the cross-border area under different goal-oriented approaches. This paper summarizes a regional planning meta-governance model with Chinese characteristics, to explore the mechanism of spatial planning, as a policy and technical tool for spatial governance, in responding to the ecological governance of crossborder space, and measures how it can effectively play a synergistic role in the regional scale.@en
