Abstract
Receiver deghosting for seismic streamer data is a longstanding challenge in seismic data processing. We propose a novel 3D receiver deghosting method, which is capable of handling both horizontal and slanted streamer data in a theoretically rigorous manner. Our method honors the wave propagation phenomena in a true 3D sense, and L1 inversion is the mathematical engine behind our method. Furthermore, in order to better meet the L1 constraint, we also designed a redundant hybrid Radon dictionary for our method to work with. A synthetic dataset from a modified 3D EAGE/SEG Overthrust model and a Red Sea field dataset are used to demonstrate our method, and results are successful.
